Central Texas training post gets mock Middle Eastern village

Escalation of the war in Afghanistan and nuclear proliferation in Iran underscore the need for new Army training facilities such as the $17.6-million Combined Arms Collective Training Facility completed in April at Fort Hood, the U.S. Army’s training post in the Central Texas city of Killeen.

Kick-off of College Station Wal-Mart Remodel and Expansion

The beginning of August marked the kick-off of the $11.5 million renovation and expansion of Wal-Mart Supercenter #1150-08 in College Station, Texas. Project Manager Kelly Yancey and Superintendent David Ragans are working in close coordination with Wal-Mart to enable store operations to continue during construction until its scheduled completion next summer.

Remodel Work Begins on Missouri City Wal-Mart

Emerson Construction teamed up with Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. to begin a $1.8 million general remodel of the Supercenter #2505-116 in Missouri City, Texas on August 2nd. The project is headed up by Project Manager Rhonda Nebgen and Superintendent Daniel Lucas and is scheduled to complete in October 2009.

Killeen Fire Station #1 Completed in the Heat of Summer

The Killeen Fire Station #1 project led by Project Manager Kelly Yancey and Superintendents Jim Mulkey and Bobby Ferguson reached completion in mid-September. The new $3.6 million 11,400 square foot station broke ground on August 27, 2008 and contains a new office, training center, living quarters, community room, four bays, and a vehicle warehouse.

Emerson Receives "Outstanding" Nod from Corps

Emerson continues it’s strive towards excellence by receiving yet another "Outstanding" CCASS rating from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. This recognition was for the Combined Arms Collective Training Facility (CACTF) project at Fort Hood, Texas which was completed in early 2009.

BEAST Project Completed Ahead of Schedule

Thanks to the hardworking team at Emerson, construction of the new Basic Expeditionary Airmen Skill Training Phase II (or BEAST II) at Lackland Airforce Base in San Antonio, Texas is wrapping up a month ahead of schedule.

Up against heavy vegetation and rattlesnakes burrowed in the deep brush, the BEAST team, led by Project Manager Doug Williamson, Superintendent Mark Gilbreath, Assistant Superintendent Javier Escalante and Quality Control Systems Manager Glenn Dean, broke ground on the new project on April 30, 2008.
