Architect:
Wiginton Hooker Jeffry P.C.
General Scope of Project:
This distinctive one-story, 3-bay, 11,400 sf fire station is one of eight in Killeen, and accommodates 7 firefighters. The building was designed to be 60 percent more energy-efficient than the national average fire station. Interesting design features include double-deep drive-through bays, a community room, an exam room, a weight room, a shaded courtyard, an office and a study room. The laundry room has been reinforced per FEMA standards to act as a tornado shelter for staff.
